Pottery Wheel Classes
Our Fully Equipped Potter's Wheel Studio gives you the oppourtunity to "Play in the Mud"! Whether you are a beginner or novice, you will find our instructors to be friendly ,talented, patient and willing to share with you their knowledge of this fascinating craft!
We use a buff colored speckled stoneware clay (with grog) which is bisque fired to cone 04 and glaze fired to cone 6.
The majority of our glazes are Coyote Clay Glazes although we have a selection of other brands such as Laguna, ClayScapes Pottery and Ceramic Supply of NY/NJ as well a Mayco Stoneware glazes. These glazes can be dipped or painted (other methods of application also available) to create pieces like you would see in a gallery or high end gift shop.
Our Studio is equipped with: 5 electric potters wheels, all the tools and bats you need, a slab roller, large bluestone wedging table, giffen grip, extruder, grinder, slump/hump molds for hand building and a large electric kiln. We are certain you will find our studio well equipped and comfortable, as well as clean, with plenty of space to complete your work!
Open studio time is also available for the experienced potter.
