Summer Camp 2008 Schedule




Potter's Wheel Clay Camp
Due to very popular demand, we will be teaching Clay Camps! Our Clay Camps will be a 5 day, 4 hour camp starting at 10am and ending at 2pm. Arrangements can be made for early drop off/late pick-up if need be. Classes will be catorgorized in age groups (age 8-11 & 12-16) Children younger than 8 are encouraged to sign up for our ART Camps, info below.
The Clay Camp Curriculum: Pottery Wheel Basics such as centering clay, pulling and trimming.Hand Building techniques to include slabs, coils & pinch. Glazing our work is also taught . We will also talk about kiln firing and what steps we take in our pottery studio to keep it clean & running smoothly for everyone to enjoy! This class is strictly CLAY, no other mediums will be taught. Kids will get "Muddy"!
July 7-11 ages 12-16 10am-2pm

Classes are limited to 5 students per week.
Cost $200 + tax includes all instruction, tools, equipment, glazes, firing, daily snack & pizza lunch on Friday

Our Art Camps will be offered three days per week, every other week. Curriculum will include: Clay, Glass Fusion, Tie Dye & Pottery Painting. Camp hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10am-12pm or 1-3pm. Cost will be $20+ tax per session. You may sign up for 1, 2 or all 3 days. Projects will change week to week, so your kid's may pick & choose what they want to participate in. Check our events page for classes offered on the off weeks.
This camp is appropriate for children ages 6 & older. Projects will be age accomodated, if your older kids want to join us, they are more than welcome, any projects can be adjusted to any age.
Theme: Whatever... Also available 8/12,13,14 from 10am-12pm
June 24 Project: We will make & paint a clay piggy bank shaped like a dog, cat or piggy
       25 Project: We will "Dot" paint a dinner plate with our first initial monogrammed on it
       26 Project: We will Make from Clay a Wall Plaque with a special word like "Love" or "Joy"
Theme: 4th of July Extravaganza
July  1   Project:  Red, White & Blue Glass Candle Votive and a trio of red white & blue magnets
       2   Project:  Clay Chip & Dip Platter  personalized by each child from start to finish
       3   Project:  Red,White & Blue Tie Dye Tee Shirt and Splatter Painted Ice Cream Bowl
Theme: American Indian Ways   Also available July 29,30,31 10am-12pm
July  15  Project: Sculpted Clay Indian Rattle decorated with a 3D Snake or Lizard!
       16  Project:  Sculpted & Painted Indian Pony from Clay
       17  Project:  Pinch & Coil Pots made & painted by your kids!
Theme: Call me Princess!  Also Available July 15,16,17   10am-12pm
July  29  Project : We will paint and bejewel Princess Hand Mirror
       30  Project:   We will paint & bejewel a Princess Wall Plaque
       31  Project:    We will paint & bejewel a Princess Picture Frame
Theme: Around the house   Also Available July 1,2,3   10am-12pm
Aug  12   Project:We will create an awesome picture frame from Glass
       13  Project: We will create a lantern from clay
       14  Project: We will Create an awesome pinch & coil pot(s)
Theme: Lets Do Dinner! Also Available June 24,25,26  10am-12pm
Aug  26  Project: We will make and Glaze our own Dinner and Salad Plates
       27  Project: We will make & Glaze our own Ice Cream Bowl & Mug
       28  Project: We will Fabric Paint our own Placemat & Napkin

Kid's will be using paints that STAIN CLOTHING, Please "Dress for a Mess" on Camp Days
